Back to You!

Dear Mums

You’ve nearly made it. Summer is nearly over and you’ve survived the holidays!

Whether it’s been joyous blissful time spent with your cherubs. Or stressful, exhausting time spent with your brats… (…and I’m guessing it was a combination of both!) Give yourself a pat on the back!

Because one thing is for sure.

It’s exhausting. From thinking what to do for the day, and what to eat, and never ending re-stocking of the fridge… To negotiations over EVER SINGLE THING. And piles and piles of washing!

It’s exhausting and takes up all of the time.

So it’s wouldn’t surprise me at all if you have found that there has been less time for yourself. Or if you’ve neglected your own health or exercise regime.

But the thing is, as the saying goes, you can’t drink from an empty cup.

You have to replenish your own energy…
You need to take care of your health so that you can be a great example to your children..
You have to be a bit selfish…
You have to carve out some time for yourself…

I’m actually really good at this bit.
For example. It’s 8:29 and I’m on holiday with the family. I got up early this morning, saw a beautiful sunrise and did my workout.

I’ve also opted out of breakfast with the sproglets (chocolate milk and doughnuts, fill your boots, kids) so that I’m sitting here organising my business. And waiting for a yoga session to start. Yes, I did say, yoga (lol)…

My partner is pretty supportive.

The thing is, I’m in a habit of carving out time to do the things I need to do. And get them done early in the day. (Inevitably said partner will bemoan the fact that he got no time to himself, tonight at 10pm when there’s nothing that we can do about it!)

So, my challenge to you is to think:

What is it that you need? Rest? A training programme? Headspace?

And where, in a week of activities, can you carve out this time for yourself?

Discuss the Back to school schedule with partner before you get stuck into it. Can he help? Can a neighbour do a morning school run?

It’s time to start taking care of yourself. 3 x 30 min slots would make a huge difference to your health and fitness.

Back to school this year can be different this year.
Make it…

(wait for it… cheesey slogan alert)

Back to school and Back to YOU…
